It is arguable that Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria is naturally ahead of other, this slogan or better still motto was coined out from the fact that a second class upper graduate of the institution is equivalent to a first class graduate of other institutions.
It is undeniable that ABU Zaria has produce more prominent alumni than any other institution in the country and that has aroused expected comparism and competition with others.
But right within the institution this competition no doubt do exists, some departments are way more stressful than others, no question about and its close to impossible to obtain a first class honour in these departments.
The list below is just in my opinion a top 6 departments where first class honour is difficult to obtain:
1. mechanical engineering
2. department of literature
3. department of history
4. department of Architecture
5. department of languages
6. department of chemistry
